We are 66 years old and going strong!

Perfection Spring & Stamping Corp. was founded 66 years ago on April 1, 1955 by Louis Kahn. He recalls, “We started Perfection Spring Manufacturing Co. with two employees; Me and Aunt Fannie. With $5,000 in capital, I purchased one coiling machine and a “very used” four-slide machine. We put it in my garage went to work.” Things sure have changed in the last 66 years as Perfection now serves a global market of fortune 1000 companies in the automotive, appliance, medical, consumer electronic, and a variety of other markets, with over 25% of its sales being shipped overseas.

We joined an elite fraternity of Companies according to Bloomberg Businessweek’s article The Living Company which stated, “The average life expectancy of a multinational corporation […] is between 40 and 50 years”. Even more impressive, the article states that “A recent study by Ellen de Rooij of the Stratix Group in Amsterdam indicates that the average life expectancy of all firms, regardless of size […] is only 12.5 years”. So, to be going strong into our 66th year, we are extremely proud and humbled by these statistics.

The article goes on to list the four characteristics that the thriving companies seemed to have in common; a conclusion from two studies performed. These companies were: sensitive to their environment; cohesive, with a strong sense of identity; tolerant; and conservative in financing.

These are all characteristics that we would use to describe Perfection Spring & Stamping. In fact, we feel our conservative nature and sense of self have helped us stay “alive” when economic downturns have taken out many of our competitors. By viewing our customers as an extension of our business and working for them as hard as we work for ourselves, we have been able to adapt, change and reinvent ourselves to meet their ever changing needs. As we approach our 67th year of business on April 1st, we have learned that as an American manufacturer, we have to continue to provide the highest level of service and security to our customers now, and long into the future.

We are excited to be joining these other well known companies who are also celebrating their 66th year and wish them a happy birthday:

  • Aflac
  • American Shakespeare Theatre
  • H&R Block
  • MGM Television
  • Volkswagen Group of America
  • Waffle House
  • Warner Bros. Television
  • Yamaha Motor Company

On that note, we would like to thank our customers who have continued to trust us in providing their custom metal components throughout the years. As the third generation of the Kahn Family has now entered the family business, we look forward to a future stronger then ever before. We always welcome new opportunities as our goal and hopes are to continue to serve the local and international OEM’s.
