The Impact of ISO 14001 on the Environment (and the Workplace)

We’re reminded by today how important it is to take our corporate citizenship to heart as we go about our daily tasks. You see, April 22 is Earth Day, the day set aside in the year to focus on our stewardship of the planet. And at Perfection Spring & Stamping Corp., we take our responsibilities to observe best practices seriously when it comes to operating a well-kept workplace.

As an ISO 14001 Certified Company, we manufacture your custom metal components under guidelines set down by the International Organization for Standardization for environmental  responsibility,Environmental Green Logo ensuring you that our processes meet the requirements of being a world-class supplier.

The ISO 14001 certification provides “a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective environmental management system,” according to the standards body. “Using ISO 14001:2004 can provide assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.”

The benefits of using ISO 14001 include:

  • Reduced cost of waste management.
  • Savings in consumption of energy and materials.
  • Lower distribution costs.
  • Improved corporate image among regulators, customers and the public.
  • A safer workplace environment for employees

As we recognize the importance of each individual and company to do its part to be good stewards of our environment, we hope that understanding the benefits and process for obtaining the ISO 14001 certification will give you a perspective to our commitment to improving energy efficiencies and the environment that we all share.

Later this month, we will post the 2nd part of this blog series.  It will focus on some of the specific steps we took to obtain our ISO 14001 Environment Management certification.  We are proud of our efforts and encourage others to learn more about the certification.
