Deep Drawn Stamping of Steel Bracket Mount for the Appliance Industry

Deep Drawn Steel Bracket MountRecently, our client contacted Perfection Spring & Stamping Corp. when looking for an inexpensive solution for a secondary deburring operation that needed to be performed on a large series of shallow drawn shells. Using Deep Drawn progressive stamping technology, we were producing massive volumes of this part for our customer. These components were then meant to be encapsulated in plastic, a process that was carried out by this client. However, the shells contained sharp edges which caused an unanticipated safety concern. Given the massive quantity of shallow drawn shells that was being manufactured, adding a secondary deburring process would exceed one million dollars in additional fees over the remaining life of the program.

Unable to meet this unexpected expense, our client requested that we find a more cost-effective solution to their problem. Dedicated to helping our buyer, Perfection Spring & Stamping Corp. found a way to automate a deburring operation into the primary manufacturing process. The final result was a clean part, free of all burrs and sharp edges. Moreover, as this process was to be performed concurrently with all primary operations, there would be no additional manufacturing expenditures.

By coming up with this innovative and cost-effective solution, Perfection Spring & Stamping Corp. was able to provide parts that fulfilled all of our client's safety requirements at no additional charge. This innovative solution saved our client over one million dollars in unexpected manufacturing fees!
