Material Type and Alloy Benefits and Applications
Type 301 Available in five tempers:  ¼ Hard, ½ Hard, ¾ Hard, Full Hard, Extra-Hard
Type 302 Best for all-purpose use.  Available in five tempers:  Annealed, ¼ Hard, ½ Hard, ¾ Hard, Full Hard, Extra-Hard.
Type 304  (Annealed) With the low carbon content, this is great for highly ductile requirements.
Type 305  (Annealed) This has a much lower rate of work hardening.  Used for drawn and electronic parts.
Type 316  (Annealed) Great corrosion resistance to most chemicals, sales & acids in salty environments.
17/7-PH Conditions A & C This can be heat-treated for further hardening purposes.
Type 410   (Annealed, Pre-Tempered) This is not recommended for severe corrosion environments.
Type 420  (Annealed) The principle application for Dental and Surgical Instruments.
