Medical Device Stampings, Formed Metal Parts & Springs

Perfection Spring & Stamping Corp. manufactures precision medical device stampings, formed metal parts, and custom springs for OEMs and device companies at every stage of development. We work with established manufacturers and early-stage startups, producing components in volumes ranging from 25,000 to over 3 million parts while meeting the tight tolerances and strict material standards the medical device industry demands.

We have co-developed components with our customers that have resulted in multiple patents. We also regularly take on parts that other manufacturers have turned away as unmanufacturable in metal, and we deliver them. Our work spans infusion pump systems, eye-care surgical systems, implantable compression staples and devices, disposable dental systems, and surgical instruments with complex assemblies.

Medical Device Applications

Our stamped components, formed metal parts, and precision springs serve a broad range of medical device applications. We have experience across both disposable and reusable device categories, and our manufacturing capabilities are well suited to programs that require consistent performance across high-volume production.

Surgical Instruments

We produce stamped and formed metal components for handheld and powered surgical instruments, including components that require tight dimensional tolerances and reliable performance under repeated sterilization cycles.

Implantable Devices

Our implantable device work includes compression staples, formed metal elements, and precision springs produced in implant-grade and bio-compatible materials, held to the dimensional and surface finish requirements implantable applications demand.

Diagnostic and Imaging Equipment

We manufacture stamped components and assemblies for diagnostic and imaging systems where consistent geometry and repeatable performance are critical across large production volumes.

Infusion and Drug Delivery Systems

Infusion pump systems and drug delivery devices require components that perform reliably in fluid environments. We produce the stamped housings, springs, and formed parts that go into these systems.

Minimally Invasive and Endoscopic Devices

Minimally invasive procedures require exceptionally small, precise components. We produce micro-sized compression springs and intricate stamped parts for endoscopic and minimally invasive device programs.

Disposable Medical Devices

Disposable dental systems, single-use surgical tools, and similar programs require components that meet clinical standards at production volumes that make unit cost a factor. Our progressive stamping process is built for exactly that.

Medical Device Progressive Stamping

Progressive stamping is one of the most repeatable methods available for producing precision medical device stampings at volume. We run progressive dies capable of producing intricate geometries while holding tight tolerances across high-volume production runs, delivering consistent results from the first part to the last.

Stamped components we produce for the medical device industry include:

  • Diagnostic equipment components
  • Implantable device parts
  • Surgical instrument components
  • Stamped elements for complex medical assemblies

Medical Device Spring Forming

We manufacture precision springs for medical devices ranging from micro-sized compression springs for minimally invasive procedures to high-precision springs for surgical instruments. Our spring forming handles tight dimensional tolerances and is available in a range of bio-compatible and clean materials suited to medical specifications.

Spring forming work we handle for medical devices includes:

  • High-precision springs for surgical instruments
  • Micro-sized compression springs for minimally invasive procedures
  • Custom-formed springs for diagnostic and imaging equipment
  • Springs for implantable devices and assemblies

Medical Formed Metal Parts in Specialized Materials

The medical device industry requires components that perform consistently under demanding conditions. We produce medical formed metal parts in a range of specialized materials, including bio-compatible alloys, implant-grade metals, and clean-room-compatible options. Every part is manufactured to meet the dimensional tolerances and regulatory requirements your device specifications call for.

Our formed metal parts serve:

  • Surgical instruments with tight form tolerances
  • Complex assemblies with multiple formed components
  • Diagnostic and imaging systems
  • Implantable devices requiring strict material compliance

Why Choose Perfection Spring & Stamping for Medical Device Manufacturing?

Co-Development and Patent Track Record: We partner directly with our customers to solve engineering challenges from the design stage forward. That process has led to multiple patents and has brought medical devices to market that other manufacturers considered impossible to produce as metal components.

Precision Across Specialized Materials: We work with bio-compatible alloys, implant-grade metals, and specialty materials, holding tight tolerances regardless of material type or part complexity.

Scalable Production for OEMs and Startups: Whether you need early-stage prototype quantities to validate a design or high-volume production runs to meet market demand, we scale to match your requirements and timeline.

Engineering Support From the Start: Our team engages early in the design process to identify manufacturability challenges before they become production problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

We work with stainless steel, aluminum, steel, copper, brass, and wire stock for spring forming. Material selection depends on the device type, sterilization method, and whether the component is single-use or reusable. For implantable or fluid-contact components, we can discuss material specifications that meet your design requirements during the quoting process.

Progressive stamping feeds strip metal through a sequence of die stations in a single pass, making it the right choice for flat or moderately formed components that need to be produced in high volumes with tight, repeatable tolerances. Fourslide stamping uses four independently adjustable slides to form wire or strip from multiple directions simultaneously, making it better suited for complex three-dimensional shapes, hooks, clips, and spring forms that progressive tooling cannot achieve. We run both processes in-house, so we can evaluate your component geometry and recommend the right method before tooling begins.

Yes. We manufacture micro-sized compression springs and intricate stamped components specifically for minimally invasive and endoscopic device programs. These parts require tight dimensional control at very small scales, and our equipment and tooling capabilities are set up to hold those tolerances consistently across high-volume production runs.

Progressive stamping is inherently repeatable by design, each station in the die performs the same operation on every part in sequence. Once the tooling is set and validated, the process holds the same geometry and tolerances from the first part to the last. For medical device programs, process consistency is a requirement, not a preference, and our tooling and quality process are built around that expectation.

We engage at the design stage when invited to do so. Early manufacturing involvement allows us to identify features that are difficult or costly to produce in metal and suggest design modifications that preserve function while improving manufacturability. Several products we have co-developed with customers from the design stage have resulted in patents. Bringing us in early is particularly valuable for components that have been turned down elsewhere as unmanufacturable.

In many cases, yes. Stamped metal components offer advantages in strength, dimensional stability, sterilization compatibility, and longevity that injection-molded plastic cannot match. For devices that face repeated sterilization cycles, high mechanical loads, or strict dimensional requirements, metal stampings often perform better over the life of the device. We have worked with customers specifically on converting previously plastic components to metal stampings and spring forms, including cases where the initial assumption was that metal manufacturing was not feasible.
